The Bermuda National Optimist team is competing at the IODA North American Championships in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic this week with a 198 boat fleet from 23 different countries including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, France, Germany,Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Uruguay and the USA.
In large and confused seas and winds 10-12 knots building to 14 knots, Bermuda have got off to a good start with 5 sailors in the top 50. Kalin is the top Bermudian sailing very consistently with a 11,12 and 2nd place finish, Owen is the second Bermudian and he had 1st place finish in the 3rd race.
